Consolidated Communications offers free mobile application with new directory

GIBSONIA – The Official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications is now available in print, online and in an easy-to-use mobile format, giving users the ability to search for business listings in their local area while they’re on the go.

The online and mobile directory can be searched by keywords and phrases in addition to the traditional yellow page headings, and both versions also provide maps, driving directions and a link to many advertiser Web sites. The mobile application is available for downloading now at thephonebook.consolidated.com or consolidated.com.

Jim Bristow, Vice President, Consolidated Directory Services, said Consolidated Communications is excited to offer the mobile application to its users. “The mobile access allows our users to access The Phone Book anywhere and at anytime,” he said. “With so many people using their cell phones to search online, we wanted to provide our customers with a way to find local information.”

The printed directory is being distributed now to residents in northern Allegheny and southern Butler counties. The 2010 book includes listings for Butler, Cranberry Township, Freeport, Gibsonia, Mars, Saxonburg, Tarentum, Valencia, Wexford and surrounding areas. The directory includes easy-to-read white and yellow page listings.

In addition to the traditional directory that is being delivered to area residents, The Phone Book from Consolidated is also available in a mini book format. The mini format is ideal for use in tight places such as vehicles or offices. Area residents can also get a mini book by visiting the Consolidated Communications office at 4008 Gibsonia Road.

As local residents receive their new books they are encouraged to recycle any old telephone books at one of the several locations Consolidated Communications has recycling bins available. Recycling is encouraged in Gibsonia at the Consolidated Communications office at 4008 Gibsonia Road. The recycling bin is available in the front of the building. Bins have also been set up in several locations, including: Cranberry Township Municipal Building, Mars Area Middle School ( Three Degree Road side of building); Bauerle Greenhouse and Garden Center in Wexford; Giant Eagle Northtowne Center in Gibsonia; and Friedman’s Supermarket in Saxonburg.
